WEDOS DNS setup
If your domain is registered at WEDOS, connecting it to Redirect Supply means changing a few records in WEDOS DNS. Your domain stays at WEDOS, and your registration and email don’t change. It takes about five minutes. Just remember one WEDOS-specific step at the end: nothing goes live until you apply the changes.
Before you start
You need two things ready before you open WEDOS.
Add the domain in Redirect Supply

Add your domain in Redirect Supply first. Its settings page shows the records you’ll need, including a TXT value that’s unique to your domain. Keep that page open in another tab. This guide covers a root domain like brand.cz. If you’re connecting a subdomain like go.brand.cz, the DNS setup guide explains the differences.
Check that WEDOS DNS is in use
Records in WEDOS DNS only count when your domain uses WEDOS nameservers: ns.wedos.net, ns.wedos.cz, ns.wedos.eu and ns.wedos.com. If your domain points to Cloudflare or another provider, add the records there instead. The Cloudflare DNS setup guide covers the most common case.
Open DNS records at WEDOS
All the changes in this guide happen in one place in the customer administration.
Find the DNS records
Sign in to the WEDOS customer administration and open your list of domains. Select your domain and open its DNS records (DNS záznamy in the Czech interface). You’ll see every record on the domain and a button to add new ones.
Records you’ll see there
If the domain was ever connected to WEDOS hosting or parked at WEDOS, it already has an A record on the root domain and a record for www pointing to WEDOS servers. Those use the names Redirect Supply needs. Not sure what else counts? The conflict table on your domain’s page in Redirect Supply lists every record that blocks the setup.
Clear the way
Before adding anything, remove what’s already pointing your domain elsewhere.
Remove old root and www records
Delete the A records on the root domain, the ones with an empty name, and any record on www. If there’s an AAAA record on the root domain, delete it too, or visitors on IPv6 will keep reaching the old server.
Remove WEDOS redirects
If you set up a redirect for this domain in WEDOS, or the domain is attached to a hosting plan that redirects it, remove that first. WEDOS’s own redirect competes with Redirect Supply’s records for the same domain.
Leave email records alone
MX records and email TXT records like SPF or DKIM keep your email working. They don’t affect redirects, so leave them exactly as they are.
Add the Redirect Supply records
You’ll add four records. In WEDOS, leave the Name field empty for the root domain. For anything else, enter only the prefix, and WEDOS adds your domain. Keep the default TTL.
Name | Type | Value |
|---|---|---|
www | CNAME | proxy.redirect.supply |
(leave empty) | A | 188.114.96.9 |
(leave empty) | A | 188.114.97.9 |
_cf-custom-hostname | TXT | Value from your domain’s settings page |
Note: Records go live only after you select Apply changes (Aplikovat změny).
Add two A records for the root domain
Add a record of type A with an empty name and the value 188.114.96.9. Add a second A record with an empty name and the value 188.114.97.9.
Add the www CNAME
Add a CNAME record with the name www and the value proxy.redirect.supply.
Add the TXT record
Add a TXT record with the name _cf-custom-hostname and paste the value from your domain’s settings page in Redirect Supply. On some less common domain endings, Redirect Supply also asks for an _acme-challenge TXT record. Add it the same way if you see it. This rarely happens with .cz domains.
Apply the changes
This is the step people miss. WEDOS doesn’t publish records the moment you add them. It collects your changes until you select Apply changes (Aplikovat změny). Until you do, nothing you added is live, so select it once all four records are in.
Check the status in Redirect Supply
Once the changes are applied, you’re done in WEDOS.
Check the conflict table

You don’t have to wait to find out if something’s wrong. Your domain’s page in Redirect Supply shows a conflict table with the records currently on your domain. Anything that blocks the setup, like an old WEDOS A record or a leftover www record, is flagged there along with what to do about it. Fix those first, and the rest is just waiting.
How long it takes
Once applied, WEDOS changes are usually picked up within an hour. If the old records had a long TTL, it can take a little longer before everyone sees the new ones.
When the domain goes Active

Redirect Supply checks your records automatically. When it finds them, the domain switches to Active and HTTPS is issued on its own, with no extra steps from you. See Domain statuses for what each status means along the way.
WEDOS-specific issues
Most problems on WEDOS come from changes that were never applied.
Nothing changed after adding the records
The changes weren’t applied. Go back to the DNS records, select Apply changes (Aplikovat změny), and wait a few minutes.
The old website still loads
An old A or AAAA record on the root domain, or a WEDOS hosting redirect, is still active. Delete the record or remove the redirect, apply the changes, and check again in a private window.
The DNS records page isn’t available
Your domain uses nameservers outside WEDOS, or WEDOS DNS isn’t turned on for it. Add the records with the provider your nameservers point to, or switch the domain to WEDOS nameservers.
The domain is stuck on Pending
Open the conflict table on your domain’s page in Redirect Supply. It shows which record is blocking the setup, usually a leftover root A record or an old www record. Remove what it flags, apply the changes, and wait a few minutes. Record conflicts covers the common cases.
