Dynadot DNS setup
If your domain is registered at Dynadot, connecting it to Redirect Supply means adding a few records in Dynadot’s DNS settings. Dynadot’s screen works a little differently from most registrars: root records and subdomain records live in separate sections. Your domain stays at Dynadot, and your registration doesn’t change. It takes about five minutes.
Before you start
You need two things ready before you open Dynadot.
Add the domain in Redirect Supply

Add your domain in Redirect Supply first. Its settings page shows the records you’ll need, including a TXT value that’s unique to your domain. Keep that page open in another tab. This guide covers a root domain like brand.com. If you’re connecting a subdomain like go.brand.com, the DNS setup guide explains the differences.
Check where your DNS lives
If your domain uses nameservers outside Dynadot, such as Cloudflare, add the records there instead. The Cloudflare DNS setup guide covers the most common case. If the domain is parked at Dynadot or uses Dynadot’s nameservers, carry on here.
Open DNS Settings at Dynadot
All the changes in this guide happen on one page.
Find DNS Settings
Sign in to Dynadot and open My Domains, then Manage Domains. Check the box next to your domain, select Action, and choose DNS Settings.
Switch to Dynadot DNS
At the top of the page, choose Dynadot DNS from the dropdown. Parking and other modes override DNS records, so nothing you add counts until Dynadot DNS is selected. If Dynadot Email is set up on the domain, Dynadot asks you to turn it off before you can edit DNS, so plan your email setup first.
How the page is laid out
The Domain Record section holds records for the root domain itself. There’s no host field there. The Subdomain Records section holds everything with a prefix, like www. Not sure what’s already in the way? The conflict table on your domain’s page in Redirect Supply lists every record that blocks the setup.
Clear the way
Before adding anything, remove what’s already pointing your domain elsewhere.
Replace Dynadot forwarding
On Dynadot, forwarding is a record type, Forward or Stealth Forward, rather than a separate setting. If the Domain Record section or a www subdomain record is set to Forward, change it to the records below instead of keeping both.
Remove old root and www records
Remove any other A, AAAA or CNAME records in the Domain Record section, and any www entry under Subdomain Records. Leftovers on the same name make your domain switch between destinations.
Leave email records alone
MX records and email TXT records like SPF or DKIM keep your email working. They don’t affect redirects, so leave them exactly as they are.
Add the Redirect Supply records
You’ll add four records across the two sections, then save once at the end. Keep the default TTL.
Name | Type | Value |
|---|---|---|
www | CNAME | proxy.redirect.supply |
(Domain Record section) | A | 188.114.96.9 |
(Domain Record section) | A | 188.114.97.9 |
_cf-custom-hostname | TXT | Value from your domain’s settings page |
Note: Add www and the TXT record under Subdomain Records, then select Save Settings.
Add two A records in Domain Record
In the Domain Record section, choose A as the record type and enter 188.114.96.9 in IP Address / Target Host. Add another row with type A and 188.114.97.9.
Add the www CNAME in Subdomain Records
In Subdomain Records, enter www as the subdomain, choose CNAME, and enter proxy.redirect.supply as the target host.
Add the TXT record in Subdomain Records
Add another row under Subdomain Records with _cf-custom-hostname as the subdomain, type TXT, and the value from your domain’s settings page in Redirect Supply. On some less common domain endings, Redirect Supply also asks for an _acme-challenge TXT record. Add it the same way if you see it.
Save Settings
Select Save Settings at the bottom of the page. Dynadot doesn’t save rows one by one, so if you leave without saving, everything you entered is lost.
Check the status in Redirect Supply
Once the settings are saved, you’re done in Dynadot.
Check the conflict table

You don’t have to wait to find out if something’s wrong. Your domain’s page in Redirect Supply shows a conflict table with the records currently on your domain. Anything that blocks the setup, like an old Forward record or a leftover www entry, is flagged there along with what to do about it. Fix those first, and the rest is just waiting.
How long it takes
New Dynadot records are usually picked up within an hour. Switching from parking to Dynadot DNS can take a little longer.
When the domain goes Active

Redirect Supply checks your records automatically. When it finds them, the domain switches to Active and HTTPS is issued on its own, with no extra steps from you. See Domain statuses for what each status means along the way.
Dynadot-specific issues
Most problems on Dynadot come from the DNS mode or unsaved changes.
Records have no effect
The domain is still parked or set to another mode. Choose Dynadot DNS from the dropdown at the top of DNS Settings and save again.
The records disappeared
Save Settings wasn’t selected before leaving the page. Enter the records again and save once at the end.
The domain still forwards to the old destination
A Forward or Stealth Forward record is still in the Domain Record section or on www. Replace it with Redirect Supply’s records and save.
The domain is stuck on Pending
Open the conflict table on your domain’s page in Redirect Supply. It shows which record is blocking the setup, usually a leftover Forward record or an old www entry. Remove what it flags and wait a few minutes. Record conflicts covers the common cases.
